I went on a little trip to London and had a mooch around some vintage shops. There’s always so many to choose from. Here’s a little break down of the shops and vintage pieces I found.
The first place I went to was to have a snoop around the designer vintage section in Liberty’s. It was amazing to touch and feel these gowns worth around £2000 each. I took a few sneaky pics but they weren’t too keen on me doing it in the shop. I was too scared to try anything on….
Next stop was the Beyond Retro store in Soho, a bit more down my alley! I loved the displays and mannequins as you walked in and made me feel very summery. Lots of patterns and summer wear was up for grabs and I tried on this red/checked dress on but it was a bit too short for me.
Absolute Vintage was a delight. I don’t think ever seen so many vintage leather boots, bags and shoes in one place. I pulled out some of my fave pieces I found on the rails. I will definitely be back to this shop.
Last but not least, I spotted a sign saying ‘Reign’ and thought…. this sounds familiar! I asked the cashier and it’s from the same family as the Reign vintage shop here in Oxford. I spotted a lovely pink Chanel-esque suit and tried on a 60s style swirly dress.
I enjoyed my little day out but as I’m off to support and work at Oxfam Hove’s vintage weekend this Saturday, I thought I’d best save my money to get something there (and its guilt free this way as the money goes to charity!)
If you have any vintage shop recommendations – let me know, I’m always on the hunt.
