This year I have a couple of friends getting married and I’m on the hunt for some vintage pieces for the celebrations.
The first wedding is in Spring and the second at the end of Summer so two dresses, two different seasons – and any excuse for more vintage really!
Three of my lovely friends have got married so far and I’ve had the pleasure of being a bridesmaid. I’ve had some fab pieces bought for me but this time round I’m a guest and have to plan ahead for what to wear. Here are some of my top picks:
Beautiful pink 60s party dress with sequins and ruched detailing from Beyond Retro – £50. If only I had a 22 inch waist. I think this has a vintage style but a modern feel and I love the pastel colour.
Incredible 50s blue and green midi dress with purple ribbon detail from Rokit Vintage – £150. I love the cut of this dress and you could really dress it up or down with your accessories.
Vintage hand made 50s coral lace cress from Oxfam’s Online Shop – £65. The lace and cap sleeves are fab on this dress and the colour would really pop with a contrast necklace.
50s prom dress from Etsy (Adas Attic Vintage) – £150. White but not too white… no upstaging is needed! I think this is a beautifully cut dress and the pattern makes it an unusual alternative to a block colour.
Last but not least…. Needle & Thread backless sheer sleeve tulle embellished maxi dress available on ASOS – £200. Not vintage but my dear, I love this dress. I have always been fascinated by rich embellishment and I would love to own a Needle & Thread dress.
So many dresses, so many styles. I can’t wait to get out on the hunt to find a new stand out piece for my lovely friends’ weddings.
