Lantern parade: Christmas in Oxford

This weekend saw the start of Christmas festivities in Oxford. The sparkling lights are twinkling on the high street and with these cold winter nights setting in, they certainly brighten up the city centre.

On Friday, I went down to the lantern parade in town. Brass bands played and school children proudly showed off their creations. There was jazzy tunes, Christmas carols and dancing around in hats, scarves and gloves.

There will be lots to see and do coming up to December and one other event I’m hoping to get to is the Independent Oxford Christmas Market on December 2nd at Turl Street Kitchen. This is the third year the pop up market has happened and I loved it last year. Stall holders so far include

  • The Annie Sloan Shop
  • A Rosie Life
  • Oxford Aromatics
  • Harriet Elkerton
  • Custom Made
  • Miesje Chafer
  • Ermana Skincare

I haven’t done any Christmas shopping yet *eeekk* but will be starting soon. What Christmas festivities have you got planned?
