One of my fave things about charity shops is when they are full to the brim with lots of generously donated items up for sale. Routing through and feeling the fabrics and then all of a sudden you spot an amazing wool coat or a striking green dress. I sound like an addict, and I am!
The Barnardos charity shop on the Cowley Road is just that. The window displays I have seen ranged from a glass cabinet with heated rollers in it, to a mannequin in a beautiful dress with a horse’s head on. Bizarre.
There are rails and rails of clothes, a dedicated vintage section, a decent books section, linens and the most weird and wonderful assortment of homewares and bits and bobs spattered around the back and centre of the shop floor.
I’ve bought a few pieces in here and even featured in a magazine wearing one – a Vintage blue flower dress. I headed straight to the vintage section to see what I could find and here are my fave pieces this week. As this is one of my faves, I’ll be back again to showcase more pieces and see what gems I can find.
Hope you enjoyed my finds from the Oxford Barnardos.
