A few of my favourite things: Vintage house snoop

I’d like to say I live in a country pile, with rolling hills, Farrow & Ball paint jobs with a country kitchen but the reality is I live in a cute but modern house in East Oxford. Although in the future village life might call, I’m at heart a city girl. I’m from Liverpool, so when I first moved to Oxford it was a big change in culture and lifestyle.

With a rented house there is only so much you can do to vintage it up and I can’t wait to one day have my own house to completely decorate in my style. For now, I’m happy with adding some vintage furniture, quirky pieces I’ve found along the way and keeping my garden trim.

Here are a few of my favourite things from or about my house. I’m constantly finding new pieces (mainly from skips and people’s unwanted furniture!).

This is a 1970s hot plate I’ve turned into a bar. My old housemate got it for me from Freecycle and the lady who owned it, said : ” I hope your friend likes entertaining”

I love these little shell animals I found in a charity shop years ago.

Everyone’s got to have a mini Henry and Hetty, don’t they?

Bit of Liverpool flavour. My old uni housemates got me this clock for my birthday and I just love the shape and colours.

Another Liverpool treasure – my Lamb Banana based on the Super Lamb Banana. If you don’t know about this Liverpool landmark take a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superlambanana
