On my work travels, I’m very pleased to have come across some amazing vintage gems.
I work as the marketing manager for Oxfam shops and love to get out and meet our amazing shop teams and volunteers and of course look at (and try on!) all the amazing clothes that are generously donated to us. I don’t write about Oxfam too much on here as I don’t want to appear that I’m trying to PR you!
We have about 660 shops and an amazing online shop with a dedicated vintage section.
When you donate things to Oxfam we’ll first try to sell them in our shops and then if they don’t, they’ll go to our warehouse. We have massive sorting lines and things are picked out to either sell online, go to our amazing festival shop (currently at Leeds!), be recycled into things like mattresses, sold on to other markets or sent to our social enterprise in Senegal. We don’t like waste!
It’s amazing to think what can happen to your bag of donations and all profits are used to help Oxfam fight poverty.
Here are some of the cool pieces I’ve snapped on my travels. So, next time you’re having a sort out think about dropping some stuff off at Oxfam 🙂
