Vintage shopping – Christmas day outfit

Choosing your outfit for Christmas day is a hard task. After turkey, 27 potatoes, 55 pigs in blankets and god knows how many quality street; you need something glam but flexible around the waist!

Last year I wore a velvet, black dress from Beyond Retro. It was very slinky and very fitted but after Christmas dinner I had to undo the zip ha ha!

This year, I’m definitely not going for fitted and started to have a look around for something colourful but not to summer-y. I remembered I had a voucher for Rokit Vintage and it was about to run out (you only get six months on them FYI!). I came across this dress and saw the elasticated waist – pass me the mini sausage rolls…. It arrived on Saturday and I’m really pleased with it. It fits well and has that little extra few inches for the Christmas day feast.

I liked the red colour on it for Christmas but thought the flowery print would see me through to Spring/Summer as well.

As I had some money left on the voucher I looked well into the future and bought some new sunglasses as well! (Don’t think I’ll need these on Christmas day though!)

I’d love to know what you’re planning to wear on Christmas day, let me know!

As much as I love shopping the best thing about Christmas is just being home with your family. I used to love going to Church on Christmas Eve with my Dad and seeing all the little kids dressed for the nativity. Although he’s not with us any more, I go and hope he’s there with me in spirit.

I count my blessings that we have a house, food and a lot of love. This year I’ll be donating money to Crisis and Shelter, which both support homeless people.
