October Magdalen Market in East Oxford

After last month’s miss due to the weather, the Magdalen Market was back again for its October showing. The market takes places at the start of every month at the Maggie Arms pub on Iffley Road.

I’ve volunteered at the last few with Emmaus Oxford, so it was nice for a change to come as a punter. The front stalls were made up of retro furniture and glassware, along with the Annie Sloan shop.

It was great to see a few different traders and also the lovely folk who used to run Old Made, who I have not seen for a while (and have had a baby – congratulations!).

There were retro postcards, brooches and event 80’s style technology. What you’d do with it… I don’t know but it looked cool.

Around the back, there was an upholstery stall with some fab cushions and stools and then a good few rails of vintage and second-hand clothing, which I got right into.

I bumped into the lovely Rosie who was snapping away with her camera and looking as colourful and pom-pom fabulous as usual.

Here’s some photos from the day. I usually use my DSLR for this but I forgot to charge it…. so IPhone was a go.

  1. I’ve wanted to try the market at the Maggie Arms for a while – I went there for a Sunday roast and saw the advert 🙂 So glad I stumbled across your blog – trying to hunt out fellow Oxbloggers! Lauren – http://www.theyoproedit.com (fellow Oxford resident!)
